Trump's Proposed Buzzsaw to Social Safety Nets in 2020

Posted by Peter Bohan | Mar 19, 2019 | 0 Comments

A recent LA Times article highlighted the proposed 2020 budget of Trump - it is nothing short of breathtaking in its scope in its objective to gut social safety nets that most Americans rely on and including Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security. Fallout from the cuts to Social Security Administration (already very much strapped for cash) will have results that Americans will undoubtedly feel - longer wait lines at the Social Security office, on the phone trying to speak to someone at Social Security, longer delays in the time it takes to process and adjudicate cases. All of this largely under the radar but with enormous impact on our society and the services that are essential to not only those who need it most but for all of us (all but the 1% who don't need any type of social safety net whatsoever).
